Reporting directly to the Director Africa based in Johannesburg (South Africa) and working in collaboration with the creative centers, the Nigeria Sales Manager/General Manager will be responsible for:
General Management
– To represent the company externally with the Nigerian authorities, statutory/regulatory/financial bodies and third parties
– To manage business relationship with local importers in Lagos
– To supervise the daily activities of the office and staff (2 people) and to recruit local staff if needed
Sales Management
– To visit clients regularly on site in order to understand their expectations and needs and to propose appropriate solutions,
– To follow closely each project developed per client and to develop strong and long term relationships with core customers,
– To ensure that production, clearing and delivery of orders are done rigorously.
– To identify, develop and grow new business
– Develop marketing and sales strategies for new opportunities.
– To build a thorough knowledge of the leading brands and products for each category in order to update and to assist the marketing department.
– To interface with other departments for to obtain required assistance or support from the team.
– To provide other departments and affiliates with regular and detailed feedbacks
– To conduct and to manage strategic research in order to identify and to assess new business partnerships in the Northern and the Eastern region
– To coordinate and participate in trade shows, workshops and international/local events as needed
Financial Management
– To set yearly sales targets by customer and manage these targets vs. actual and vs. budget
– To manage the operating budget and to ensure efficient cost control
– To follow bad debtors and to determine and set credit policies in conjunction with company policies and procedures.
Profil recherché
Experience
– European Business School degree or Master’s degree in Business Administration
– 5 to 10 years experience in sales within the fragrance, chemical or cosmetic industries in exotic locations
– Strategic planning and management expertise
– Strong command of French and English
Skills
– Demonstrated project management skills
– Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
– Proven negotiation skills including the ability to persuade and influence others
– Ability to develop excellent relationships
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
– Ability to work in a multi tasking environment
